The growing use of telehealth prompts the importance of conducting virtual healthcare evaluations in a way that maximizes the experiences for both patients and providers. The Comprehensive Patient Assessment Using Telehealth in the Home (CPATH) is a clinical framework designed to guide clinicians through an intentional and comprehensive assessment via telehealth. Phase one of this study completed a secondary data analysis of the data collected during the preliminary CPATH study to evaluate the patient perspective of the usability, ease of use, and acceptability of the telehealth technology during a CPATH-guided telehealth visit. Phase two of this study delivered an educational intervention to clinicians regarding the CPATH framework to examine its appropriateness in application and the clinicians’ willingness to implement it in their practice.A descriptive secondary analysis of the mixed-methods CPATH pilot study was completed, along with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest educational evaluation. Phase one implemented a non-probability, purposive sampling method while phase two implemented a convenience sampling method followed by snowball sampling. The total sample size for phase one was eight participants and the total sample for phase two was 10 participants. Phase one results presented descriptive statistics reflecting Technology Usefulness Scale scores, Systems Usability Scale scores, and acceptability responses. Qualitative findings were combined with those results to present a meta-matrix with thematic integration of the findings. Phase two results indicated a statistically significant change in clinician responses following the educational module. Overall, both patients and providers reported acceptance of the CPATH-guided telehealth visits and willingness to implement the CPATH framework in future telehealth practice.Type
